Here you will find we have evolved through our passion for creativity, colour and Japanese Textiles.

The day we happened upon a Japanese Yukata (cotton robe), whilst staying in a boutique B&B, the search began to covet one of our own.  After ample research and the realisation that Yukata where difficult to source in Australia, the idea of Ruby Kimono was conceived in January 2006.

From our recent sourcing trip, we are delighted to introduce this carefully selected range of accessories, giftware and Japanese Yukata, designed and manufactured in Japan. All of these items are available for retail or wholesaling enquiries on our contact page.

Another aspect, the creative side of the Ruby Kimono story feature Vintage Kimono Fabrics which we have been meticulously handpicked from temple markets during our stay in Japan.

‘The Workroom’ and ‘Design Your Own’ pages feature items made by hand using these fabrics. You are free to design your own Vintage Kimono Fabric Obi Belt, 3 Way Sash (headband, waistsash or beltloop) Velvet Velcro Waist Sash, textile buttons and Framed Silks.
